San Francisco-based startup Level Up Basket, which develops a mobile app for basketball fans and professional athletes, has raised funds from Russia’s Daily Challenge fund. The amount of the transaction is not disclosed.
Analysts from the Russian Venture Telegram channel were the first to find out about the partnership, and later Andrey Taburinsky, one of the co-owners of the Daily Challenge fund, confirmed the fact of the deal to Forbes.
The Level Up startup was created in 2020 by the author of the MoykaMoyka application, who later developed Maps.me maps, Evgeny Lisevsky. He also came up with the idea for the Openplacerewies.org review service.
The American start-up after completing the round is estimated at $5 million. The author does not disclose the income of the project, but explains that the service is available by subscription at 699 rubles per month and its audience reaches 100,000 users.
In the app, players can plan training sessions and track their progress, share results online so that the coach can connect in real time and evaluate the effectiveness of the training. And the pro version of the basketball club owner software helps to get player data, rankings and other analysis.
In 2021, the startup raised $350,000 from Flyer One Ventures and Quantum A funding to expand its team, increase sales, and improve the product.
