Since January 2023, the number of cybersecurity startups in Russia has doubled. Management now occupies 6% of the market for young companies. The leaders are FinTech, projects in the fields of medicine and health, Kommersant learned.
The growing interest in product development in the field of cybersecurity can be mainly explained by the exit of a number of foreign vendors, which lowered the threshold for entering the market, experts say.
So far, the number of new deals in the market as a whole is down from 2022 figures, but many teams are just beginning to announce projects. Investments in new information security companies will grow in the near future, the market is waiting for consolidation, its participants believe.
- In the first quarter of 2023, the volume of DDoS attacks increased by 58% compared to last year. The average cost of organizing a simple cyber attack is about 900 rubles per day. The main cities in terms of the number of attacks were Saint Petersburg, Tver and Ulyanovsk.
- To prevent such incidents, StormWall recommended that the company enable professional DDoS protection. In addition, it is also worth regularly auditing the security of the IT infrastructure to identify bottlenecks that increase the risk of DDoS attacks.
