In a message posted on the channel, scammers asked readers to invest in cryptocurrencies with the promise of returning the money with bonuses in a few days.
Artemy Lebedev’s hacked channel had a huge impact in the community. Ilya Varlamov, a blogger known as a foreign agent in Russia, shared information about the hacking and deletion of Lebedev’s personal Telegram account on his Varlamov News channel.
The scammers demanded more than $500,000 in crypto, claiming that Lebedev could not purchase the cryptocurrency due to the restrictions imposed by the bank. It is not yet known whether the channel’s readers transfer money to the scammers.
Lebedev himself has not yet commented on the incident.
