The governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Alexei Russkikh, said that the first production of blades for wind farms in Russia will begin production at the end of 2024.
Developed by Rosatom’s composite division, UMATEX, the blade will be made entirely of domestic materials. He said this will increase the volume of localization in the wind energy sector.
Production will take place at the factory site of Danish company Vestas, which left Russia, which was shelved in October 2022. But according to the Russians, the factory managed to save personnel.
The capacity of the enterprise is designed for 450 products per year. Thanks to the production, 400 jobs will be created. According to the governor, investments in the project amount to 2.3 billion rubles.
