Sberbank earned a record 727.8 billion rubles in the first half of the year. The country’s largest bank recorded the previous maximum profit in 2021, when it earned 594.8 billion rubles in the first six months; now profits are 22% higher.

Sberbank earned a record 727.8 billion rubles in the first half of 2023

Sberbank announced the receipt of 727.8 billion rubles of net profit in the first six months of 2023. The indicator is a record for the bank – the previous maximum profit in the amount of 594.8 billion rubles was received in the first half of 2021.

A significant part of Sberbank’s profit came from the sale of a subsidiary in Austria for 138.8 billion rubles. The bank completed the sale of Vermögensverwaltungs AG in Abwicklung in June.

Sberbank’s net interest income for the reporting period increased by 41.4% to RUB 1.06 trillion. The bank’s net fee and commission income increased by 18.2% to RUB 322.7 billion.

Sberbank also announced a record volume of issued retail loans totaling 720 billion rubles.
