Currently in WhatsApp Communities, your phone number may appear if you reply to messages. But the new “phone number privacy” feature will help prevent that.

The feature is in testing and is currently available to users of beta versions of messaging for Android and iOS. When you turn it on, your phone number is only visible to community administrators and people who have registered you as a contact.

This way, you can join group chats and announcements without worrying about your number being exposed.

Note that this update is very important as it can help ensure user privacy and protect them from unwanted calls or messages from criminals and scammers.
