The attackers began to steal Telegram accounts through a competition for a ticket to a children’s camp

Kaspersky Lab warned of the emergence of a scheme to steal Telegram accounts through participation in a contest for a ticket to a children’s camp.

The attackers add a user to a public channel, where a “woman” asks to vote for her son by clicking the link. The link is phishing: it leads to a site that imitates the authorization page on Telegram, where the user’s authentication data is stolen.

The company’s specialists also reported an increase in the number of attempts by Russian users to switch to phishing resources: in the second quarter of this year, the number of such transitions increased by 39% compared to the first.
