Anxiety is an emotion that manifests itself in many ways. It can cause physical symptoms such as increased heart rate, sweating and abdominal discomfort. Anxiety can also cause feelings of tension and worry about the future. Anxiety is a normal emotion that helps us recognize danger and take steps to survive. But sometimes anxiety can arise even when there are no real threats, it is enough just to think about possible negative situations.

There are people who are more prone to anxiety than others. Psychological and social factors play a role in our susceptibility to anxiety. We inherit some traits from our ancestors, so if our parents had anxiety, then we are more likely to be anxious. The conditions under which we grew up are also important. If we had stability and attention in our childhood, we will most likely feel calm. However, we may be more prone to anxiety reactions if we have unstable or insecure parents. And of course our environment also affects us and can cause both stability and anxiety.

When anxiety becomes very intense or is always present, it can significantly impair our quality of life. In such cases, it can be a sign of anxiety disorder. However, it is not always necessary to consult a doctor or psychologist to deal with anxiety. Sometimes using self-help techniques is enough. And of course it’s helpful to know more about what anxiety is, how it works, and why it’s necessary.
