According to CNN, the company violated contracts and simply “abandoned” workers who claimed they had been fired.
Former Twitter Africa employees who were laid off seven months ago have yet to receive severance and reimbursement to their country as promised.
The IT giant’s compensation offer was accepted at the end of May, but according to sources, the employees did not receive any money or any messages from the company.
A former Twitter Africa employee told CNN they were simply kicked out while the company was paying compensation to its former employees in other regions. At the same time, African workers should have received less than their counterparts anyway.
Recall that in early July, it filed a $500 million class action lawsuit against Twitter for refusing to pay ex-employees severance. Also, Facilitate Corporation sued for $665,000 for non-payment of bills.
