The Russian developer and manufacturer of functional prostheses “Motorika” announced the opening of the line of lower limb prostheses. The company invites teams working with prosthetic legs to participate in the project. Investments in this area are planned to amount to several hundred million rubles. “Motorika” announced the release of the direction of leg prosthetics.

The company cites data from the Moscow Innovation Agency from last year, which shows that 2.6 million people with disabilities of musculoskeletal functions live in the country.

Every year more than 45,000 prosthetic legs are installed in Russia. The main component that is present in all modular leg prostheses is the foot module. Motorika will launch such a module first, the launch of the first models is scheduled for 2024. Later, the company will launch the knee module.

According to Andrey Davidyuk, CEO of the company, Motorika has been receiving requests for prosthetic legs since its inception. Now the company will focus in this direction and will consider projects and teams that are already developing their developments.

Previously, Motorika presented a prototype AI interface to control a bionic toothbrush. The technology allows you to “naturally” control each finger of the prosthesis. The manufacturer also made two custom designer cybernetic prostheses on a special project, which ended up on the cover of a foreign magazine.
