Elon Musk biographer Walter Isaacson posted a photo of Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen showing Musk early Tesla Cybertruck prototypes.
On the left in the picture, images of pickups are available. Apparently, Tesla hasn’t always considered options with an angular design.
On the right side of the image, various objects and characters from the TV series were taken by the designers when designing the Cybertruck. Among them are Robocop, James Bond and Back to the Future cars, as well as vehicles from Throne and Blade Runner 2049.
Isaacson did not say when the photo was taken. But he said Musk would personally influence the smaller design change, even if it deters some customers.
I want the future to look like the future. We will not make an export boring pickup truck. We can always do it later. I want to create something cool.

The Tesla Cybertruck was introduced in 2019 and the production of the pickup started earlier this year. Musk’s biography, written by Isaacson, is due out in September 2023. [The Verge]
