The Council of the European Union has extended the sanctions against Russia until January 31, 2024. The last of them, the so-called package 11, was presented by the European Union in June. Russia, in response to the EU decision, extended the restriction on the export of a number of goods from the country, which has been in force since March 2022.

The European Union has extended all sanctions against Russia for six months. This is stated in the message of the Council of the European Union.

The EU last imposed sanctions against Russia in June 2023. As part of the 11th sanctions package, restrictions were introduced, among other things, against the IT company Positive Technologies, the Zvezda TV channel and various individuals.

Russia, in response to the EU decision, extended by two years the restrictions on the export of a series of goods from the country. The corresponding decree was signed by Vladimir Putin on July 20.
