The new mobile application “My Identity”, developed by the State Public Institution “Infogorod”, allows you to store and view data from the user’s main documents, such as passport, SNILS, TIN and others. The app is already available for download on various platforms, including the App Store and Google Play. It provides the opportunity to choose which documents the user would like to transfer to the application from his personal account on mos.ru.
The My ID application contains information on various documents, including Moscow identifiers such as the Muscovite card and library card, and information about pets. These data can be used in everyday life, helping to fill out online forms, buy tickets or get discounts at city institutions. By specifying a pin code, the user can protect their data and share it with trusted parties, but digital documents are not currently available to replace originals.
However, the transition to digital documents may face technical and legal hurdles. For example, the lack of a regulatory framework for the use of electronic ID cards and the need to protect data from fraud. Some experts also fear that digital documents will be easily copied and used for illegal purposes. All this requires serious investments and the development of special technologies to ensure data security.
