The prosecutor requested for the founder of the Group-IB Ilya Sachkov 18 years in prison in the case of treason

The case is being considered behind closed doors at the Moscow City Court. After the announcement of the accusation, the businessman said that he did not admit guilt, his lawyers reported.

Sachkov has been in a pre-trial detention center since September 2021 on charges of high treason. All case materials are classified. The penalty for this charge is punishable by 20 years in prison.

The FSB completed the investigation of the criminal case against Sachkov in March 2023. Sachkov himself has repeatedly denied the allegations against him. On June 26, the case of the founder of Group-IB went to trial for consideration on the merits.

In the spring of 2023, the Group-IB cybersecurity company allocated Russian assets, local shareholders and top management bought the business. The company continued to work in Russia under the FACCT brand.
