Demand for “smart” devices for pets increased 1.5 times

Izvestia researchers collected statistics from various platforms that sell smart devices for pets and observed a 1.5 times increase in demand. This figure is named in M.Video-Eldorado, Mobile Research Group and Inventive Retail Group.

If we talk about specific groups of products, the following are in greatest demand:

• automatic feeders and drinkers, including remotely controlled ones (in M.Video-Eldorado they note an increase of 2.4 times, in Wildberries – 2 times),
• automatic drinkers for travel (demand increased by 48%, according to M.Video-Eldorado),
• silent semi-professional trimmers (the demand has grown 9 times, according to M.Video-Eldorado),
• automated trays (demand grew 2.5 times, according to Wildberries).

Other “smart” devices are also gaining popularity: location trackers, heated mats, automatic cat litter deodorizers, baby monitors for pets, etc.

Experts cite several reasons for this interest. First, consumers have mastered a variety of smart home devices, felt their comfort, and transferred this experience to their beloved pets. Second, the pet accessories market is also growing.

Experts assess the dynamics of this market in different ways. Analysts from F+tech’s “Smart Home” department | Marvel” believes that it is only forming, and the growth rate is low, since the average paycheck is quite high.

But TelecomDaily experts estimated that the Russian market for pet devices grew by 50% during the year. Representatives of Mobile Research Group also see that “if a year ago three or four smart drinkers were on the market, now there are a dozen of them.”

Through high-tech electronic devices, pet owners seek to make life and care for them more comfortable, as well as show them affection.
