At a meeting on August 9 in Roskomnadzor with developers of mobile operating systems and manufacturers of smartphones, the revision of the Aurora operating system was estimated at 300 billion rubles. Until 2027, the system should appear in the consumer segment.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Yadro, Aquarius, Kaspersky Lab and others. One of Kommersant’s interlocutors specified that it was also proposed to create an association of developers of mobile operating systems.
The department itself said that they were studying “the problems of reducing the dependence of Russian communication networks on foreign mobile platforms.” However, the financing problems of the mobile platform “are not the topic of the meetings.”
Experts believe that under current conditions it is possible to develop a Russian operating system only with state funds.
At the end of 2022, Rostelecom presented a draft domestic mobile ecosystem, where by 2030 it was planned to sell 70 million devices on the Aurora operating system. Its cost was estimated at 480 billion rubles.
