Yandex CEO Artem Savinsky has been fined again for failing to label “18+” on films that show LGBT scenes, reports RIA Novosti. The amount of the fine is 200 thousand rubles. Earlier, on August 15, Yandex-owned Kinopoisk was fined for the same.
“Savinovsky was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under part 2 of article 6.21.2, an administrative fine of 200,000 rubles was imposed on him,” the Zamoskvorechye judicial district in Moscow told the state agency.
Yandex clarified that, according to this article, the protocol is drawn up simultaneously for a legal entity and an official. As the press service added, the company will appeal the decision because “the law and regulations in their current form do not provide sufficient objective criteria to determine the manifestation.”
Earlier in the week, Kinopoisk was fined 1 million rubles for showing the films Little Italy, Love, Love, Love, Alexander and Doctor T and His Women without the 18+ label.
This is not the first fine for Savinsky and the online cinema under this article, at the beginning of the month the court ordered him to pay 200 thousand rubles due to the lack of the required age plate in Kinopoisk in the films Bridget Jones’s Diary, Green Book, “Perfect Strangers”. Then the service was fined 1 million rubles.
