Expert, once this technology has become a real breakthrough, the advantage of this method of authentication is that you do not need to remember the digital password. But the technology is fraught with a critical vulnerability: biometric data – the same fingerprint – can be leaked.

If the fingerprint is copied by the attackers, only this method is configured, it will not be difficult to hijack the device. Another of the minuses: the dependence of fingerprint input on the state of the screen, and on smartphones with an old sensor, you can even unlock the device using someone else’s fingerprint. In addition, without regularly using a digital password to enter a smartphone, you can easily forget it.

That’s why Zakarian recommended not to rely solely on fingerprint login, but to set up various levels of protection, including two-factor authentication by sending an SMS to the phone with an access code.
