After talent agent Bruno de Paula’s cell phone theft case went viral on social media last week, causing the user to lose 143,000 BRL, many tried to protect their bank passwords from thieves’ access. One of the solutions found by many use a second device: “Pix mobile phone”.

It becomes the only device with access to the most critical passwords, banking services, cards and apps associated with financial transactions. But the ultimate protection to prevent theft from happening and thieves accessing credit institutions, do not take the device out, leaving it locked at home.

Second cell phone search

As strange as it may seem to buy a mobile phone to hold, this trend has been confirmed by Xiaomi Brazil president Luciano Barbosa. “We noticed this activity in our stores in September and October and started cataloging in November. It reached its peak in April of this year,” he said. Wow, citing the increase in demand for branded devices, registered at the end of last year.

For executives, the biggest concern of consumers when purchasing a second device has been the security of banking applications. Even knowing that the brand has premium intermediate models (most sought after) provide security mechanisms, “Some conservatives chose to have a device at home”.

About the obvious contradiction between buying a device for a price in the R$2,000 range and not going out with it, Xiaomi Brasil says that “consumers want fast action: clicked, entered”, so entry is avoided even if the device is hidden at home.
