According to the WSJ, this payment will be made at more than 500 Whole Foods stores by 2024. Additionally, Amazon plans to introduce the technology to various venues, including stadiums, airports, and even some Starbucks coffee shops.

The move is part of the company’s strategy to actively expand biometric payments and compete with giants like Apple and Google.

While Amazon has so far failed to become a key player in the payment services market, the company is hopeful that the new Amazon One payment service will be a success.

As proof of the potential of the new payment system, Amazon states that users have already paid more than 3 million with their palms and there has not been a single case of user misidentification.
