My.Games is looking for a buyer for Boosty’s content monetization service. The company is already negotiating with potential buyers, VK is among the main contenders. Analysts estimate the asset itself to be $5-10 million.
My.Games plans to restructure Boosty: the service will be transferred to a separate Russian legal entity, which will be sold before the end of 2023, there are already several potential buyers, Kommersant has learned.
Experts believe that another venture fund with a portfolio of projects in the gaming industry may acquire the platform. If Boosty buys VK, then the holding could integrate the platform with VK Donut and attract a new audience of authors and content creators.
- VK announced the sale of its My.Games gaming business to Leta Capital managing partner Alexander Chachava at the end of September 2022. The deal amounted to $642 million, it included all My.Games assets. Subsequently, part of the My.Games business, which generates revenue in the Russian market, was spun off into a separate independent company, Astrum Entertainment.
