Swiss scientists from ETH Zurich have developed a new version of the “fog catcher” – a fast network that helps the ULA infuse and condense the flow from ordinary fog. Such devices are used in arid regions where the water content in the atmosphere is too low for natural temperature drops. Due to the difference in night and daytime temperature fogs, there are rarely fogs, as happens, for example, in mountain x in northern Chile.
The problem is that the mists carry an observation that was formed from fumes – including the industrial inhabitants laughed. It has not been purified by converting water vapor into liquid water, because these are completely harmful impurities. For their manufacture, a new “mist catcher” system was designed.
And this type of coating is hydrophilic polymers and titanium dioxide. The first component improves liquid trapping, the second decomposes organic matter in it. Titanium oxide works best when irradiated with ultraviolet light, so such a network begins to be cleaned in compliance with the rules at the FIRST rays of the sun.
During the experiments, the network was able to collect 8% of the water from the fog and at the same time remove 94% of all impurities from it. For this, only 30 minutes of exposure to sunlight was enough. Now scientists are working on a new VERSION of meshes that they want to install on gradients in order to passively clear the water vapor in them and turn them into clean ones. water.
