WeGoTrip co-founder Alexander Golovaty, a partner of Sputnik CEO Alexander Kim, issued an open letter in support of the businessman. The day before, Kim was arrested in the case of the death of eight people in the collectors of the Neglinka river in Moscow.
Sputnik8 offers services to find and book excursions. The site is an information intermediary between the organizers of said events and the clients. It is alleged that the platform has no relationship with the organization of excursions.
Golovaty in his post says that after reports of Kim’s detention, some media began calling the businessman the organizer of the tour. Also in the media, according to him, information appeared that Kim was trying to leave Russia.
“This is not true: immediately after the incident, Sasha was a witness to the case, actively cooperated with the investigation and provided all the necessary material and information. He did not hide from law enforcement and he certainly did not organize an excursion that resulted in a disaster,” Golovaty writes.
The businessman urged to support Alexander Kim and distribute the letter.
“May our society be a place where the rights of each person are protected and the judicial system works on the basis of objectivity and evidence”, concludes Holovaty.
On August 20, a group of eight people went on a tour of the underground Moscow. After that, a heavy downpour began. According to Mash, the sewer in the Trubnaya area, where the group was located, began to fill with water, so people could not get out and drowned.
During the following days, search and rescue operations were carried out in the capital. The bodies of the dead were taken out of the Moscow River.
In connection with the tragic incident, the Investigation Commission opened a case under the article on provision of services that do not meet safety requirements. In this case, the general directors of companies that sell excursions were sought.
As Telegram channel 112 wrote, the general director of the Avangard company, which also sells this type of excursion, traveled to Dubai after the incident. In another publication, the resource claims that Alexander Kim “did not have time to hide abroad”, but does not provide any evidence of the businessman’s attempts to leave the country.
In addition, the organizer of the excursion, Nikita Dubas, was detained in the case of the death of people.
