Skillbox (owned by VK) has launched a new EdTech platform “Akademika”, which presents courses from 15 Russian universities in IT, marketing, design and other areas, the Skillbox press service reported. The total investment in the project amounted to 140 million rubles.

On the platform, you can manage the content yourself; In their personal account, providers will be able to create their own courses, upload assignments, and monitor student progress. The platform is intended for users over the age of 18 who are comfortable with the online learning format.

Among the partners of “Akademika” are 15 leading Russian educational institutions, including MGIMO, the Russian Peoples’ Friendship University, the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI”, NSU, TSU, BFU. I. Kant and others.

In addition to the universities, the Center for Public-Private Partnerships (part of the VEB.RF group), Skillbox and the Foundation for the Development of Online Education cooperate in the project.

Education

The platform offers eight main areas and more than 100 topics. These are development, design, photography, marketing and others. By choosing a specific address, the user gets access to individual topics, in total there are more than 200 downloaded courses on the platform, by the end of this year their number will increase to 300.

Furthermore, users will be able to choose programs not only by their specialization, but also by a specific university or company that has downloaded the course. There is a classification by complexity, language of instruction, duration and cost.

How much does it cost

The platform offers both paid programs and free courses. Initially, prior authorization, the user has access to two modules of all the courses, it will be valid for 10 days. In the future, a subscription will appear on the platform.

The cost of the educational program depends on the price of the partner: the average cost of one course is about 5 thousand rubles.

Previously, Skillbox became a 51% owner of Kespa online English school.
