According to rough estimates, Hawaiian authorities will spend about $5.5 billion to restore infrastructure destroyed by the fires, which at the time of writing had destroyed about 2,700 buildings. South Korea and Japan have already offered to help restore the islands, having already donated $2 million each for this purpose.
