The “Creative Laboratory” is a competition whose goal is to find creative ideas and marketing concepts to promote tourism in Moscow. As part of it, the participants must solve one or more problems and propose creative concepts that increase the tourist attraction of the capital. The winners will receive a cash prize of 150 thousand rubles.
Who is the contest for?
The Creative Lab is open to product designers, brand and web designers, environment designers, illustrators, as well as sound designers, music producers, strategists, creators, and marketers.
You can work on tasks both independently and as part of a creative team.
What is there to do?
Participants must select one or more tasks from the contest organizers. There will be six tasks in total:
- Develop sound design: sound identity of Moscow, sound art on the topic “Sound map of Moscow” or audio search “Play Moscow”.
- Develop a new line of souvenirs “Moscow. VDNH.
- Update the visual style of the Amigos de VDNKh loyalty program.
- Develop unique merchandising for the Play Moscow program.
- Create a mockup of an eco-exhibition booth for the Discovery City project.
- Develop positioning of a digital product (RUSSPASS service).
A webinar will be held on September 19, at which ANO “Moscow Hospitality and Tourism Development Project Office” will talk about working on creative concepts and analyzing each task in detail. The entry will be published on the Creative Lab website.
Based on the results of the contest, the jury will form a short list of finalists who will be invited to the online defense on November 14. The best projects will be announced on November 21.
To participate in the “Creative Laboratory” it is necessary to register on the site before October 8th.
What will the participants receive?
The winners will receive a cash prize of 150 thousand rubles. In addition, each participant will receive a case in her portfolio, useful contacts in the creative field and access to a potential client represented by the organizers of the competition – the Moscow City Hospitality and Tourism Development Project Office.
How does the third stream differ from the previous ones?
In this set, the “Creative Lab” is carried out in collaboration with the Higher School of Design of the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University. The School of Design and the Institute for the Development of Creative Industries of the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University offer all contest participants a platform to design competitive solutions: “Creative City”.
The platform was created to publish creative projects linked to various places in Russia. Thanks to the geotagging system on the Cities map, you can find projects dedicated to a specific city. The works published by the participants within the framework of the contest will go directly to the map of Moscow.
Current tasks from the competition are also integrated into university classes in various educational areas of the School of Design, from communication design to sound art, and will help to master new skills in practice.
