The Ministry of Finance will increase the volume of foreign currency and gold acquired by seven times according to the budget rule. In the period from September 7 to October 5, more than 276 billion rubles will be spent for these purposes. To reduce volatility in the market, the Ministry of Finance will stop transmitting foreign currency purchases to the domestic market until the end of the year.
In the period from September 7 to October 5, the Ministry of Finance will spend 276.1 billion rubles on the purchase of foreign currency and gold. The department announced it on its website.
“The daily volume of purchases of foreign currency and gold will amount to the equivalent of 13.15 billion rubles,” the Finance Ministry said in a statement.
Compared to the previous reporting period, spending on purchasing currency and gold will increase sevenfold. In the period from August 7 to September 6, 40.5 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes.
To reduce volatility in the markets, the Ministry of Finance will stop transmitting foreign currency purchases to the domestic market until the end of the year.
