In the 2GIS mapping service, it was possible to build routes inside buildings. This was reported to RB.RU by a representative of the company.

The “2GIS” browser began to build routes inside the buildings.

Now the opportunity is available for 2200 shopping centers in Russia, where there are floor plans on 2GIS maps. In addition, the navigator began to display new data that will help you quickly choose the best route by public transport, on foot, by scooter and by bicycle.

Previously, the cards could only take the user to the entrance of the mall and then show the direction in which they should go.

Now 2GIS users will see a dotted line that will lead through all floors of the mall to a specific store, suggesting ascents and descents to other floors by elevator, escalator, or stairway. 2GIS creates a static route scheme, since the browser inside the building works differently than outside.

2GIS also released a new screen for building routes. Now the service shows the duration of ascents and descents, calories burned, the presence of dirt roads or bike lanes, and more.

When choosing public transport routes, you can now see how many sections on foot and transfers you have to overcome and which exit from the metro is better to go to. The route schedule, information about the first and last flight also appeared.
