Google will start deleting inactive accounts starting in December. This will affect personal accounts that have not been used for the last two years. Almost everything belonging to the account will be deleted: backup copies of photos, letters, Workspace files and calendar events.
Google will remove accounts that haven’t signed in for two years. Google announced this on their blog.
The deletion of accounts will be done in stages and will start in December. In addition to the account itself, almost everything belonging to it will be deleted, including Gmail emails, Google Photos backups, Docs files, Workspace, Google Drive, and calendar events.
Google will not remove content from inactive YouTube accounts for now, as some of the videos have historical significance, the company said.
Google also made an exception and will only remove personal accounts; The measure will not affect organizational accounts.
Before deleting an account, Google will send notifications to the email addresses associated with the account so that the user has the opportunity to save the account.
