Yesterday Apple released iOS 16.6.1 and macOS Ventura 13.5.2.
As it turned out, in these firmware the company fixed a serious vulnerability due to which hackers were given access to technical means. It is associated with the ImageIO process and the Wallet application.
On iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, processing a competitive image may result in balance code completion. This allows an attacker to gain access to the audio system using simple pictures due to a buffer limitation.
The company constantly recommends updating to modern versions of operating systems to avoid hacking.
