The Russian company Sollers has started serial production of pickup trucks at the Far East automobile plant. Previously, this plant produced Mazda cars.
For the new model, the automaker used the Chinese JAC T6 base. The Sollers pickup truck will cost from 2.4 million rubles with the gasoline version and from 2.5 million rubles with the diesel engine, Kommersant reported.
Another pickup truck will be put on the assembly line at the beginning of 2024 and then the consortium will enter other segments. Equipment from the Vladivostok Engine Plant, manufactured for Mazda in Japan, was moved to another Sollers asset: ZMZ.
- The Sollers Auto group includes UAZ and the ZMZ industrial center in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The company plans to start automobile production in Azerbaijan in the fall of 2023. This is the first export market for the company.
- Later, Sollers also plans to enter the markets of other countries. Currently, the states of the Customs Union that recognize the Russian approval of the vehicle are being considered.
