Google has begun blocking the accounts of Russian businessmen for showing their ads in other countries. Before the blocking began, account owners were asked about their affiliation with Russia. In March it became known that Google would prohibit Russian companies from spreading advertisements for their products and services to other countries, but the company did not warn about blocking accounts.
Since the beginning of September, Google has blocked the accounts of Russian businessmen for advertising their products and services in other countries. A marketing specialist from a company dealing with online education told RB.RU about this and faced blocking his Google Ads account.
Advertising was carried out in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan through the specialized service click.ru. Until September, the advertising campaign worked correctly, but in early September the account was blocked without prior notice, said the publication’s interlocutor.
A representative of the company contacted click.ru for an explanation of the situation, to which he received a response from support that the accounts of many Russian companies that broadcast advertisements for their products and services to other countries were blocked. . The service also clarified that accounts will most likely not be unlocked due to new advertising rules.

Google announced in March that it would stop serving ads from Russian advertisers.
“We recently suspended advertising activities in Russia, and are now also suspending ads from Russian advertisers on Google properties and networks around the world,” Google said in a blog post.
However, Google did not announce the blocking of accounts, which was a surprise, a company representative said. He clarified that some time ago they were asked for information about which country the company’s business belongs to.
