The Finnish company, which owns the legendary name, has now announced that it plans to expand its portfolio and launch its phones under its own HMD brand.

Jean-François Baril, co-founder, chairman and CEO of HMD Global, shared this information on his LinkedIn page.

He said HMD and Nokia phones will coexist in the market and consumers can expect to collaborate with “exciting new partners.”

Baril also noted that HMD Global is the “fastest growing 5G smartphone manufacturer year on year” and a leader in sustainability, thanks to the launch of repairable Nokia devices in the last 12 months.

The company is ready to “enter the market independently to create a new world of telecommunications focused on consumer needs.”
