Information about this appeared in a new biography of Elon Musk from Walter Isaacson. According to the book, many of Tesla’s design studio employees were shocked by the idea of the Cybertruck. “This is very strange,” said Franz von Holzhausen, the company’s chief designer.
Despite internal contradictions, Cybertruck remains an important project for Tesla. The company plans to take a share of the pickup truck market, which is currently controlled by Ford.
If Tesla can achieve this, it will significantly strengthen the company’s position in the auto market, especially considering California’s plans to switch to electric vehicles by 2035.
