Unity recently announced a change to its pricing structure; This way, developers will be charged for each game installation in Unity after reaching certain download and revenue thresholds.
Developers are unhappy with the lack of transparency around how Unity will track installs and distinguish them from invalid ones. They also believe the new pricing structure conflicts with Unity’s previous promises of transparency in terms of service.
In response, Unity suspended user acquisition programs for games whose developers boycotted them.
The struggle continues and there is no end in sight.
