The CBC2 system, designed for the instantaneous exchange of combat data, is expected to become operational next month, according to Brigadier General Luke Cropsey, who is responsible for the integration of command, control, communications and battle management programs. The system will be deployed to three bases, the locations of which have not been disclosed, in the first half of 2024, and additional systems are planned to be deployed within five years.
CBC2 is designed to replace the hardware-attached Combat Control System Fixed system serving the United States and Canada, including Alaska and Hawaii. The system integrates more than 750 radar channels into a single user interface, improving data transmission and communication, as well as introducing artificial intelligence functions.
