Researchers compared the DNA of people with stroke and healthy volunteers and found that slight changes in the HSPA8 gene, which is responsible for the HSP70 protein, were associated with stroke severity. This discovery could help target more effective treatments for patients in the future, even if they do not have symptoms of severe stroke.
