Images of the MH-60M were taken during the Polar Dagger exercise in the Bering Sea, showing the helicopter’s additional equipment. The helicopter is especially equipped with the AN/APQ-187 Silent Knight terrain tracking radar, allowing it to fly at low altitude in difficult weather conditions and low light conditions. The helicopter is also equipped with the AN/ZSQ-2 sensor system with cameras and laser rangefinder, as well as a low visibility pilot system (DVEPS) that enables navigation in fog, snow and sandstorm conditions.
Additionally, the MH-60M is equipped with threat warning sensors and electronic countermeasures that work in conjunction with the Joint Infrared Countermeasures (CIRCM) system to counter infrared-guided missiles.
