In a few years of Apple releasing visually identical iPhones, the new titanium frame on the 15 Pro and Pro Max feels like a revelation.
True, the Internet is already full of photographs and reviews of Western tech bloggers who are not too happy with titanium: They say that This frame not only gets stained with fingerprints, but also tends to peel off.
How true are such statements? I vigorously touched and felt the iPhone 15 Pro Max to make sure.
Why does a titanium frame collect fingerprints?
Fingerprints on titanium and other metals (e.g. stainless steel) transformation due to natural carbohydrates, oils and other substances in human skin. So the number and frequency of marks on the iPhone’s titanium frame directly depend on each owner’s option.
If you plan to carry your iPhone without a case and constantly wipe the edges of laziness, just take your smartphone with clean and dry hands. But this will not protect your device from getting dirty, because light skin always contains the same fat.
It’s just that the number of prints will depend on the type of skin – the more oily, or perhaps your hands often sweat, the more they make sure that your fingers remain on the edges of the titanium iPhone.
How badly does titanium stain?
I wiped one half of the lower part of the titanium frame with microfiber, but not the other half yet.
I have fairly dry hands and my skin is not prone to excessive oiliness. But even with such moderately clean hands, imprints on the titanium frame are made instantly.
But everything is learned by comparison, so I can say for sure that the frame of my iPhone 13 Pro Max visually collects more fingerprints. They are just on a polished surface go more noticeable than on matte titanium.
Both models of iPhones in the competition have one thing: all you have to do is run a soft microfiber cloth along the edges once, and fingerprints disappear, as if by magic. Only the polished frame of the iPhone 13 turns into inevitable scratches received over more than a year of use; the titanium iPhone looks like it’s only “from the box“
Thanks to the matte surface, even a heavily stained titanium frame looks good next to the wiped, polished iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Yes, the color around the titanium buttons is also factory maintained. Is not peeling paint, and all the same chemical manifestations after interaction with the skin. After using the cloth they disappear.
So don’t believe those who criticize Apple for its case material being easily soiled. Even if you grabbed an iPhone 15 Pro Max, the prints are not too noticeable and do not harm the aesthetics.
Answering the question, I can say with confidence: the titanium frame, of course, gets dirty, but not as noticeably as in the case of “Proshkas”..
And if, upon careful examination, you see fingerprints, simply wipe the frame on a jacket or T-shirt. And your iPhone will be brand new.
