The Nevsky District Court of St. Petersburg found Smart Retail LLC (which runs the Samokat delivery service) administratively liable in the Greenbox mass food poisoning case. “Samokat” was fined 20 thousand rubles, the Telegram channel “United Press Service of St. Petersburg Courts” reports.
It should be noted that during an unscheduled on-site inspection in Samokat, “violations of the sanitary and epidemiological requirements of the law” were detected: storage conditions and expiration dates of food products were not observed.
A service representative noted during the meeting that all violations had been eliminated.
The case is related to the mass poisoning of prepared foods from the Greenbox health food cafe, with which Samokat collaborated.
- On September 11, the court registered a case of mass food poisoning from the Greenbox company, purchased through Samokat. More than 270 people were poisoned, including three children. In 58 cases of poisoning, specialists found the salmonella bacteria.
- On September 14, a court in St. Petersburg suspended the activities of Green Box JSC for two months. The company was reported to have partially admitted to the violations.
- On September 19, the St. Petersburg Investigative Committee brought charges against the production director of JSC Green Box for the provision of services that did not meet safety requirements.
