In March 2024, the online Chess.ru platform will appear in Russia, which will be an alternative to the international chess portal Chess.com blocked by Roskomnadzor.
Joint Stock Company “Chess.ru” recently purchased the Chess.ru domain for 2.7 million rubles. The creators of the project announced that the chess playing platform will be available as a mobile application for iOS and Android devices.
Chess.ru’s audience consists of more than one million Russian-speaking chess players. Pavel Osipov, founder of Chess.ru, stated that the new application will not only provide the opportunity to play online, but will also become a learning platform for improving chess skills. Osipov also announced that Chess.ru will have anti-cheat features that will allow it to attract professional players and hold official competitions. The site is under development and plans to offer a variety of features, including player verification capabilities, on-demand games, and more.
