Apple will soon introduce a new search engine for the App Store and other applications, Bloomberg reports.
The new system, codenamed Pegasus, is being developed under the leadership of John Gianandrea, former vice president of search and artificial intelligence at Google. Since April 2018, he has served as Director of Machine Learning and Strategy II at Apple.
Pegasus has deeper integration with iOS and macOS and supports generative II.
Bloomberg notes that Apple has enough room to launch its own search engine in the future. But the question of whether she will do this remains open.
Apple Vice President of Services Eddie Cue previously said that the company does not need to create a large inventory. Apple also rejected an offer to buy Bing in 2020. [Bloomberg]
