Sberbank filed a lawsuit with the Moscow Arbitration Court against Euroclear Bank for 665.6 million rubles. This follows from the materials of the case file. The essence of the claims is not disclosed.

Sberbank filed a claim against the depositary Euroclear for almost 666 million rubles

In July 2023, a group of Russian investors filed the first class-action lawsuit against European settlement depository Euroclear Bank. The plaintiffs were eight people, in addition to the commercial bank Energotransbank.

In total, 40 claims were filed with Russian arbitration courts against Euroclear in the amount of more than 200 billion rubles. Among the plaintiffs are MTS Bank, the Bank for Reconstruction and Development of the Urals with a claim of $69.3 million, as well as Energia-Invest with a claim of $1.6 million and others.

One of the Russian investors, whose assets were frozen in the Belgian depositary Euroclear, managed to unlock $2 million.
