Beneficiaries of 13 state support measures in the fields of transport, healthcare, agriculture and industry will be required to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) into their business processes. Forbes reports this with reference to the corresponding draft government resolution.

Authorities will force companies to implement artificial intelligence when receiving certain subsidies

Authorities expect that artificial intelligence will allow companies to save about 1 trillion rubles by 2025.

In July, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, said at a meeting between the president and the government that “if companies receive subsidies from the budget above a certain amount, they will have to implement one or another solution using artificial intelligence. ” According to him, in this way the authorities encourage demand for developments in the field of AI.

Starting in 2024, this approach will be tested in companies with revenues of 800 million rubles or more in agriculture, transport, industry and healthcare.

Solutions in the field of AI are contained in the official Russian software registry. The Ministry of Digital Development also maintains a list of verified suppliers. At the same time, companies can develop and implement their own solutions, but will then be assigned an independent examination. The list of inspection organizations will be determined later by the government IT commission.

Based on the results, companies must report, providing evidence of the implementation of AI solutions and a report on the results obtained. A company that does not comply with the requirements and implement AI will not be forced to return money to the budget, but will be deprived of government support again.
