Russian designer, entrepreneur and blogger Artemy Lebedev has been appointed design director of VKontakte. This was reported by the company’s press service.
As the company said, in his new position, Lebedev will manage the design of VKontakte products and develop the principles of work on user interfaces.
Artemy Lebedev is the founder and CEO of the Russian design studio Artemy Lebedev Studio, which has been operating since 1995. The company was one of the first in the Russian Federation to use neural networks to create logos and identities.
In 2020, the studio announced that Nikolai Ironov’s neural network generated more than 20 works for clients. Customers, according to the study, were unaware of the involvement of artificial intelligence, since “Nikolai Ironov” was presented as a remote worker.
Among the projects of the Artemy Lebedev studio is a map of the Moscow metro and navigation for all transport in the capital. In 2023, on the occasion of Gazprom’s 30th anniversary, the studio updated the logo and website of the state corporation.
The company’s portfolio also includes work for Yandex, the Euroset company and websites for the publications Lenta.ru, Moskovsky Komsomolets and Gazeta.ru.
At the beginning of the year, YouTube blocked Artemy Lebedev’s channels, where the blogger posted episodes of “The Most Honest News” with his own comments on current affairs.
After the start of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Artemy Lebedev visited the combat zone.
