Medical technologies using artificial intelligence (AI) have been implemented in more than 70 regions in Russia, for a total amount exceeding 367 million rubles. This was announced by Russian Deputy Minister of Health Pavel Pugachev at the Biotechmed forum. These technologies include solutions for electronic health records, mammography and chest X-ray analysis.
Pugachev also noted that Roszdravnadzor registered 24 medical products using artificial intelligence, 17 of which were developed by domestic and 7 by foreign companies. These technologies mainly help doctors analyze medical data, including images and digital medical records. For example, they can help detect tumors in real time during a colonoscopy.
Within the scope of the national project “Creating a single digital circuit in healthcare services based on the Unified State Health Information System”, regions are required to use medical products with artificial intelligence in certain systems of the state health information infrastructure. These requirements will become more stringent in the coming years, when the number of systems using artificial intelligence technologies in medicine is expected to increase.
