The Ministry of Digital Development called for increasing financing for preferential IT loans by 25% until the end of 2023. This year, 2 billion rubles have been allocated for this in the federal budget. Additional funds in the amount of 500 million rubles can be obtained through budget redistribution from other departmental projects of the national Digital Economy program.
This is due to the increase in the Central Bank’s key rate to 13%. The proposal has already been sent to the Russian government, writes Vedomosti.
According to experts, currently the interest of IT companies in preferential loans is low and the increase in the official interest rate of the Central Bank has had a negative impact on the availability of preferential loans.
In 2019, the government launched a state support program for companies ready to implement national software. By participating in it, companies can receive a preferential loan at a rate of 1 to 5%. The Ministry of Digital Development compensates banks for the loss of income due to low rates with subsidies.
