The developer of the VR yoga app AEI Fitness has filed a lawsuit against Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

Andre Elijah worked closely with Meta to release the Meta Quest headset app. According to Elijah, his development was supposed to be presented at Meta Connect, which took place last month.

However, during the preparation for this event, it turned out that the company terminated the contract with him and added him to the blacklist of developers. They refuse to cooperate with such people.

Apple and Pico have agreed to launch the AEI Fitness app “on their platforms within the next 1-2 years.”

The lawsuit alleges that Meta’s retaliation “has the effect of reducing innovation, quality and choice, reducing the fight against cutting-edge app development, and ensuring higher standards for virtual reality fitness apps.”

According to Bloomberg, Meta has already paid Elijah about $1.5 million. As part of the project, the developer is seeking “another $3.2 million in the near future, as well as hundreds of millions in lost profits and damages.” In total, he is seeking more than $353 million in compensation.
