As a reminder, Edge has three levels of tracking protection: Basic, Balanced (default), and Strict. Strict mode limits the ability to be tracked by companies like Google, which can affect content and ads.
Users experiencing this issue will see a message stating that their ad blocker violates YouTube’s terms of service.
The main reason for the block is that Google does not want browsers and extensions to block ad requests. When such requests are blocked, users are presented with a screen stating that they have violated YouTube’s terms of service.
To fix the issue, users can disable Tracking Protection or switch to Balanced mode in Microsoft Edge.
They can also wait for Google to recognize the situation as an issue, but that’s unlikely to happen.
