Following criticism, Apple admitted that unusually high temperatures on iPhone 15 models were caused by a software bug in iOS 17. In response, the company released iOS 17.0.3 update, which it said fixed the issue.

This update has been available for a while and user experiences regarding overheating vary. Although thermal imaging tests show that the iPhone runs cooler after the update, some users complain that the iPhone 15 Pro gets hotter than previous models, especially when using the camera or charging.
